How to Delete Saved Passwords from Google, Apple, and Microsoft Cloud Storage.

When we talk about “the cloud,” we’re usually talking about the big three: Google, Apple, and Microsoft. These companies store your passwords so you can log in seamlessly across your phone, laptop, and tablet.

However, cloud storage isn’t always the best place for sensitive data, especially if you’re moving to a dedicated password manager like Bitwarden or 1Password. Here is your step-by-step guide to clearing the slate and deleting those saved passwords from the cloud.

1. Google Password Manager (Chrome & Android)

Google stores your passwords in your Google Account. Deleting them here removes them from Chrome on your desktop and any synced Android devices.

To delete individual passwords:

  1. Go to passwords.google.com.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Search for the specific site or scroll through the list.
  4. Click the entry and select Delete.

To wipe everything at once:

  1. Open Chrome on your computer.
  2. Click the three dots (top right) > Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
  4. Switch to the Advanced tab.
  5. Change the time range to All time.
  6. Check the box for Passwords and other sign-in data and click Clear data.

2. Apple iCloud Keychain (iPhone & Mac)

iCloud Keychain syncs your passwords across Safari and iOS apps. Removing a password here deletes it from all your Apple devices.

On iPhone/iPad:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Passwords (you’ll need FaceID or your passcode).
  3. Tap Edit in the top right.
  4. Select the entries you want to remove and tap Delete in the top left.

On Mac:

  1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences).
  2. Click Passwords in the sidebar.
  3. Click the “i” (info) icon next to a website.
  4. Click Delete Password.

3. Microsoft Account (Edge & Windows)

Microsoft saves your passwords to your Microsoft account via the Edge browser or the Microsoft Wallet.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the three dots (…) > Settings.
  3. Select Profiles > Passwords.
  4. Scroll to “Saved passwords.”
  5. To delete one: Click the three dots next to a password and hit Delete.
  6. To delete all: Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data > Choose what to clear. Select Passwords and set the range to All time.

4. Mozilla Firefox (Firefox Sync)

Firefox uses “Mozilla accounts” to sync data. If you use Firefox Lockwise, your passwords live there.

  1. Open Firefox and click the hamburger menu (three lines) > Passwords.
  2. To delete one: Select a login from the left sidebar and click Remove.
  3. To delete all: Click the three dots at the top right (next to your email) and select Remove All Logins.

Pro-Tips for Better Security

Wait! Before you delete: If you haven’t moved these passwords to a new home yet, use the “Export” feature in these settings to download a .csv file. Just remember to delete that file once you’ve imported it into your new manager—it’s unencrypted!

  • Turn off “Offer to save”: Once you’ve cleared your passwords, go back into your browser settings and toggle off “Offer to save passwords.” This prevents the cloud from “re-learning” your data.
  • Enable 2FA: If you decide to keep using cloud storage, ensure Two-Factor Authentication is active on your Google, Apple, or Microsoft account. Without it, your master list of passwords is only one hacked email away from exposure.
